A thick, weighty presence of the Holy Spirit filled the little girl’s room. She stood there holding up her stuffed animal in mid air. “Why isn’t He taking it?” I mustered up a quick response. “He isn’t taking it because it’s yours.” She simply said, “Oh.” and kept on playing in her toy kitchen. I couldn’t deny the presence of God in the room. I was trying not to cry. I could feel His peace washing over the atmosphere.

Pt. 9: The Girl’s Home

We were 3 minutes away from the girls home. The woman said it had been empty for years now. We rejoined our friends in the car and drove straight there. Someone happened to be inside and I walked the halls again, 14 years later, thanking God for transforming my heart in that place and teaching me the power of forgiveness. The home was where I made my first quilt. It was where the Lord started stitching my heart back together and showing me His love as a Heavenly Father.

At 17, Rebecca had a powerful encounter with the love of Jesus in a girls home, completely transforming her life. Her heart is to bring the love and light found in Christ to the world around her through her creative gifts as a fiber artist, writer and minister of the gospel. Becca has served in missions in various locations overseas with YWAM, as well as traveled throughout the U.S. sharing the gospel and being a light. Her heart burns bright to raise up the next generation and has dreams of creating products to disciple the nations. Originally from Colorado Springs, CO, Rebecca lives in sunny Southern California where she spends her free time creating.
